A MAN is being hailed as a hero after he caught a little girl who fell out of a window on the fifth floor. The spine-chilling incident happened in Tongxiang, in the Zhejiang province of China, according to Metro.

The man named Shen Dong was parking his car across the street when he witnessed the sight of the two-year-old toddler falling from such a height. A video of the same has gone viral online with over 68k views on Twitter.

As per Metro, Shen Dong heard a loud thud as he was parking his car across the street. Actually, the little girl had fallen four-storeys and landed on a steel roof. She then toppled downwards and was caught miraculously by Dong, who ran at the last minute to save her from hitting the pavement. The now-viral video was shared by Lijian Zhao, a Chinese government official on Twitter.

"Heroes among us," reads the caption of the post.

Netizens hailed Shen Dong as a hero and praised his presence of mind and quick thinking in the comments section.

"Real heroes exist in the world, not just in movies," a user wrote.

Another user commented, "Legend! Give this guy a promotion and a medal."

According to the South China Morning Post, the toddler suffered injuries to her legs and lungs during the accident but is now in the hospital and stable. Talking to Qianjiang Evening News, Shen informed that he didn't know the girl was a baby until she started crawling. "To be honest, I cannot remember the details," he said.

"I cannot remember if my arms hurt or anything. It was just instinct to reach out to her. It was lucky I made it on time. Otherwise, I would feel absolutely horrible," he added.
